You may notice on some blog post links that will direct you to Amazon. I have signed up to be an amazon associate so there will be a few affiliated links in some of my blog posts. These links will be in coordination with what I'm talking about in the post just in case anyone is interested in looking into purchasing the item(s).
Sorry if this annoys anyone just trying to do my part to help around the homestead. Thanks😉

Hi There!!
Hey there! You have some how made your way to my blog; Congratulations your life is way more awesome now!! (Well more interesting any way) Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Tara. I live in a tiny town in East Texas that no one really cares about. The town itself USE to be really cute and well care for but now its just crap. Which is fine with me and my hubs we don't really care to have much to do with this place anyway. My hubby is a big ol bear who goes by Big Kev; he has a youtube channel which I will occasionally reference in my blog pages(probably the homesteading one mainly), but you should check him out if you have a chance (BIG Kevs HOMESTEAD). Together we raise 3 little heathens; co-parenting 2 with other parents that are 100% different from us so that's fun. I wont go into details about the other parents because this blog isn't about them. I will occasionally post pics and videos that will no doubt contain a glimpse of one or all our kiddos. DO NOT share my videos or pics please.
We are in the process of learning how to live mostly "off grid". Obviously this is very big process since we live in a world of convenience, but we feel it will be more beneficial for our self, our children, and our children's children. Everything we do is based on getting back to a simple life of living off the land and providing for yourself. You will see posts of our animals that we have on our homestead, new animals as our homestead grows, and videos of hunting and gathering adventures(seasonal). I will also talk about gardening which seems to be where my mind is right now. You'll also find post of the long lost arts of cooking from scratch, canning, and preserving produce as well as meats and other goodies. Of course I couldn't leave out the craftiness of homesteading! You'll be able to find all this under the homesteading blog. Some of the crafts that aren't really homestead related will be posted on the Crafty Things page so be sure to look there too!
The title of my blog is Offbeat Heathen Mama for 2 reasons: 1) I am totally off beat lol I do things to the beat of my own made up theme song; which no one else knows so don't even try to copy it. I don't care to follow anyone else's rules or guidelines of how life is suppose to be lived. My husband is the same way so big middle finger to anyone that thinks we should conform. 2) We are Heathens. My husband is a Viking and we choose to follow the religion of his ancestors. We teach our kids our ways and we don't care if you don't like it (please see reason #1). I wont post much about our religion because I don't feel the need to flood my pages with all our Heathen stuff; however on occasion I will post stuff that relates to it if you don't want to read those post that's fine but I will not accept rude comments about what I post on MY blog. Creative criticism is one thing being a nasty a-hole is another.
Any who I think that about sums it up for now. If you have any questions about ANYTHING you see on my blog please feel free to comment or shoot me an email. Have fun!
